Shop Stats

Shop Stats times your shopping trips and compares your pace to past shops on the same list. It is designed to gamify shopping a little — see if you can beat your previous runs.

Shop Stats is disabled by default. Nothing is recorded until you turn it on.

Enable Shop Stats

  1. Open Settings from the gear icon on the main lists screen.
  2. Under Features, turn on Shop Stats.

Your choice is saved locally. When disabled, the app works exactly as before — no timing, no stats page, no data recorded.

How timing works

Shop Stats measures wall-clock time from when you check off your first item to when you check off your last item on a list.

  • Stats are tracked per list — your Costco times are compared only to past Costco shops, not your corner store.
  • Unchecking items mid-shop keeps the timer running.
  • Clear all in "In your cart" abandons an in-progress shop without saving it.
  • All data stays on your device — nothing is sent to the cloud.

Live ticker

While a shop is in progress, a compact bar at the bottom of the list shows:

  • Elapsed time — how long since your first check-off
  • Current pace — average time per item so far
  • Delta vs average — how your current pace compares to your long-term average for this list (green = faster, red = slower)

The ticker appears only when Shop Stats is enabled and you have at least one item still to check off.

Shop complete summary

When you check off the last item, a summary sheet appears with:

  • Total shopping time
  • Time per item
  • Comparison to your last shop, personal best, and all-time average
  • Your shop number on this list

Tap View all stats to open the full history page, or Done to dismiss.

Shop Stats page

When Shop Stats is enabled, a chart icon appears in the app bar on the main lists screen. Tap it to open Shop Stats.

The page shows:

  • Total shops and best pace across all lists
  • Per-list sections with shop count, average pace, and best pace
  • Individual shop cards with date, duration, item count, pace, and rank badge (PB, 2nd, 3rd, etc.)
Getting started

Add a few items to a list, enable Shop Stats, then check them all off to record your first shop. Comparisons become more meaningful after your second completed shop on that list.

Privacy

Shop stats are stored in the same local SQLite database as your lists. They are never uploaded or synced. Disabling Shop Stats hides the UI but keeps existing records — re-enable anytime to see them again.
